Join us in conversation with Shaneica Lester, Omar Wright, and Shaun Lavis as we take inspiration from Bermuda to explore rainwater harvesting as a solution for water security in Jamaica.
Bermuda has no freshwater rivers or lakes capable of supplying drinking water to its population. As a result, Bermudians have traditionally harvested their freshwater using whitewashed rainwater roof catchments and storage tanks. Today rainwater harvesting is mandated by law for all buildings on the island. In Jamaica, worsening droughts have strained our existing water resources, leading to water lock-off and rationing. How can we learn from Bermuda, its designs, policies, and practice to be more "water-wise"?
This program is free and open to all. RSVP below. All registered participants will be sent a link.
