Join us in conversation with Hugo Matthews, Principal at Virtuoso Architect.
Hugo has twenty years of experience in the construction industry. He holds an Associates degree in Architectural Science in 1999 and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Architecture in 2001, from the Caribbean School of Architecture at the University of Technology, Jamaica. He worked at one of the largest civil engineering and construction companies in the world at Bouygues Travaux Publics, in the engineering design department. He participated in the drawing and project management of highway 2000, and played major roles in the design and construction of the Portmore toll plaza. After a number of years at Bouygues, he went on to attain the Master’s of Architecture degree in 2009, where he achieved the best academic performance in his endeavours.
He earned his qualification as a Registered Architect in Jamaica in the year 2014, when he started Virtuoso Architect with his classmate Mr. Euhon Darling, who is also a graduate of the Caribbean School of Architecture. Since then Virtuoso Architect Limited has executed such projects like: 20 South Residential Development, Parkhurst One Residential Development, Fontana Pharmacy Waterloo, Bolt Tower in Half Way Tree, Bert’s on Molynes Road, Wellington Residential Development, Spyglass Residential development, Montego Bay BPO, 8 Phoenix Avenue Commercial Development, Drax Hall and Buckfield Commercial Developments in St. Ann and many others.
