Unlike sea level rise, drought, or super storms, extreme heat is invisible, making its impacts even more insidious - none more concerning than in public health. With increasingly hot summers across the Caribbean, the rate of heat-related illnesses and death has increased, but so too has the spread of infectious diseases like dengue.
In this webinar, we chat with Dr. Pablo Mendez Lazaro, associate professor of Environmental Health at UPR, about extreme heat, the public health nexus and what that means for our health and well-being.
This program is free and open to all. Advance registration is required. All registered participants will be sent a link to participate through Zoom.
